The Railway Inn

Greenfield

The Railway came to Greenfield, the station was built. Someone had the foresight to build a house for overnight stops, a licence to sell alcohol was applied for and over 150 years later this gem of a water hole is still very much in use. Guests come to stay or simply to drink good ale / ciders and listen to good live music alongside our many locals, with ages ranging from 18 to 85. We are sadly no longer a Wilson\\\\'s house a time long gone, but our beer menu is a fine one and we have been a member of CAMRA, and the Good Cider Guide for many, many years. Not much here has changed, we are an Ale House, the walls are full of picures/photos of old Saddleworth, there is a juke box and a games room but they do not encroach. What used to be the chicken run is now a beer garden with views overlooking the whole of the valley floor. The station is directly opposite the pub and we have a small car park. Dogs are welcome in the Tap Room and on a lead. SADDLEWORTH\\\\'S PREMIER LIVE MUSIC VENUE. EVERY THURSDAY 9PM, FRIDAY 9PM, SUNDAY 4PM & 8PM CASK ALES Deuchars - IPA, Charles Wells - Bombardier, Copper Dragon - Golden Pippin, Theakston - Old Peculier, Millstone - Tiger Rut, Elland - Beyond the Pale. WE DO NOT DO FOOD BUT!! We do fine cask ales - good live music - and a splendid pork pie with various mustards
